We have the below vacancy available in our Organisation:
The G Band Principal Curator: Business Experience Centre role is based within Enterprise Business Unit
The role of the Principal Curator: Business Experience Business Experience Centre is to facilitate interactive sessions with C-Suite customers within the Business Experience Centre and deliver bespoke solutions across Fixed, Mobile, Digital, Cloud, IoT and Financial Services. The curator will be responsible for pulling together the representatives for the respective lines of business, engaging with internal stakeholders and clients on both a commercial and technical level, creating the necessary environment to facilitate conversations with clients that lead to Sales, strategic partnerships, co-creation & Innovation.


Your responsibilities will include:
  • Working within the Vodacom Product Portfolio, Segments, Verticals Technology , Lines of Business and operational partner eco-system to build vertical solutions from concept through to final solution
  • In conjunction with vendors, business stakeholders and IT subject matter experts defining end state and transition state architectures aligned with business needs.
  • Commercialisation of the solution including pricing, margins, ROI metrics etc
  • Facilitate the different segment/vertical series monthly within the BEC.
  • Report on revenue generated from the BEC initiatives.
  • Report on sales education, sessions facilitated and share use cases across industry verticals.
  • Identify potential obstacles in the vertical value chain with action plans to address.
  • The curator will manage the overall functioning of the BEC and the P&L associated the BEC

Key performance indicators:
The role is primarily for an internal industry expert that has a firm understanding of both commercial and technical construct of products from all lines of business and an understanding of the Telecommunications environment and technology requirements for Corporates.

The role requires relationship building and working closely with the Vodacom functions and external partners, where persuasion and collaboration skills to meet the required outcomes will be essential. A trusted advisor role for customers is critical to gain customers confidence in enabling their digital transformation and readiness when consulting at the BEC

The candidate is required to be knowledgeable in developing business plans, as well as having strong influencing and relationship management skills. The ability to work with partners to develop synergistic opportunities, and identifying new revenue streams within these new relationships and service offerings will be fundamental. The role will carry a revenue target.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
  • Extensive understanding of technology, platforms, eco systems and new developments within all industries
  • Negotiating with internal & external stakeholders to ensure sessions add value to customers and is aligned to the strategic intent of both Vodacom and Clients’
  • Responsible for co-ordinating the setup of the customer engagements and facilitating sessions that can add value and result in a positive ROI
  • Build & Co-create new industry solutions.
  • Support commercialisation of the identified industry solutions.
  • Report and conduct post investment review management to measure performance against the approved business plans and where applicable develop and execute treatment plans.
  • Lead teams from all functions to converged solutions to customers.
  • Conversion to sales to measure the success of interaction of the BEC Position the BEC as a centre of excellence for South Africa’s corporate digital transformation

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
Task-oriented, meaning the main focus should be to carry out the main responsibilities until the conclusion of the activity
Expert understanding of the Vodacom Business - Products and Services, how Vodacom products and Services would form part of a solution to address customer needs.
Business plan/case development including commercial fundamentals, and the articulation and presentation
Commercial and technical understanding of a customer’s landscape to support engagements with customers.
A clear understanding of working in a large multinational matrix organisation, with a demonstrable ability to make things happen across multiple stakeholders
Self-starter and self-motivator
Commercial experience: Experience operating in marketing function, preferably with additional experience in an operational (sales or customer operations) function.
